On Monday we planted the first tree, a silver birch, in an area of Scarletts that we hope to turn into a small woodland. This area is not suitable for camping as it's too sloping, so we're asking the Woodland Trust for trees to plant here and along the fence line.

You'll notice the DIY solution to protecting the tree - we followed the advice from the Woodland Trust. We're planning to plant a few hundred trees in the spring, so please hang on to any 2L plastic bottles you have.
